American Idol Watch #1
Minneapolis Auditions Recap
Here we go again. Another season of American Idol and it starts in usual fashion with the squashing of dreams for thousands of Idol hopefuls. There is nothing more enjoyable than watching extremely untalented individuals subject themselves to humiliation in front of millions of viewers. Though there were some talented singers last night, there were about ten times as many awful ones.
Speaking of bad performers, here are my “Top 5 Psychos” from last night’s episode:
(Note: names are withheld to protect the untalented)
5. #1 Idol Fan: Says she has seen every episode, yet still has nerve to try out and stink.
4. Cowardly Lion Girl: I can’t insult anyone who makes weird noises as I do them also.
3. ABBA Guy: His “rocker voice” was quite painful to listen to but also quite funny.
2. Boss’ Secretary: I think we all agreed with the judges’ original assessment that the boss was in love with his secretary, thus paying for her plane ticket to the audition. However, the secretary gave the boss quite an impressive serenade in front of the judges. I am not sure if we will ever know the real situation.
1. Juggling Guy: First he juggled. Then he performed some sort of Jig. Then he stormed out of the audition. You can’t ask for any more than that.
Crazy people like those just mentioned don’t cross our paths everyday, so we must appreciate them. However, I think we all knew a few people like my “top 5” back in high school. Why not see what they are up to with an online people search? At least you can have something to do until tonight’s episode.
