Look before you Leap: Fighting Fraud by Making Informed Purchases
It seems to happen about the same time each day around 7:00 pm. I get a knock on my door and I am disappointed to see that the person standing there is not Cindy Crawford or Heidi Klum, but yet another annoying salesperson. Magazine subscriptions, candy, arts and crafts, whatever they are selling, I am usually buying. Thankfully, my purchases from door-to-door sales people don’t cost me too much. Others, however, are not as lucky as more and more people are becoming victims of door-to-door sales fraud from purchasing products and services that are illegal, will never be delivered or are incomplete. Business Searches Provide Unbiased and Straight Forward Information
I don't know about our readers, but I like my burgers simple: meat, cheese, ketchup and lettuce. That's it. I am not into feta cheese, Guatemalan jalapenos, pastrami or whatever fad is currently setting the hamburger world on fire. When it comes to burgers, the only person's opinion that matters is mine. Thus, I always stick to my guns and order exactly what I want. No matter of persuasion is worth eating food that I don't like.
Getting what you want and not being swayed by others should be the rule for all of your purchases. Each day, many of us are bombarded with requests to try the latest product or service, invest in an up and coming company and take the "word" of sales people that their product is the best in its field. Often, we make our spending decisions based on the information that a salesperson has provided us, what we have seen on television or what we have heard about a business from others. Though these sources may be reputable, they undoubtedly are filtering information through their own opinions, interests and goals. Thus, you are never truly making a decision on your own. However, there has to be a better way to tell if you are buying quality products from, and are supporting, a sound company. There is, and it is called a business search.

Is your Boss a Criminal or Possibly Even a Drug Addict?
See who Really is Calling the Shots at Work.
![]()
Last week, I was telling my supervisor about an old boss that I used to have who was pretty eccentric. Even if you didn't know him, you could just tell by looking at him that he was up to something shady. Additionally, he lived in a separate apartment away from his family during the week and spoke of a new business that he was starting, yet he would never exactly tell you what it was. I once tried to get him to talk about his new business venture and he told me that it was based on "cat porn." Like I said, this dude was weird.
