Three Ways People Search Sites Can Simplify Your Life
It is pretty safe to say that most people assume that people search sites are only used for locating lost loves or classmates. However, a select group of “power users” are now using people search technology on a daily basis in some very creative ways.
1. A Cure for Writer’s Block
“I write a lot of stories and am often in need of names and personalities for my characters. About a year ago, I joined one of those people search sites in order to plan a class reunion. I was amazed at how much information I was able to obtain about my former classmates lives. It was like having a little window into their life. Ever since then, I have been using people search sites to develop and even name many of the characters in my stories.”
- Mary Cohn, author and life coach Petaluma, CA
2. Holiday Card List
“I am a greeting card fanatic. I tend to send out a lot cards, especially during the holidays. I am also hyper organized and like to have the most current contact information for everyone on my list. Before, I had to call everyone and make sure that all the information I had was correct. It took weeks. Now, around the holidays especially, I will purchase a one-month peoplefinders.com membership and update my whole list in a matter of hours. I just perform a search for each person on my list. When the report is generated, I cut and paste the information into an X-cel document. This helps me keep all of the information organized and print out mailing labels for each person,”

3. Keeping Kids Safe
“My children are very active. They are always meeting new friends and going out. Often times, my children are in the care of other adults. It is common practice for me to exchange phone numbers with all the parents my child comes in contact with. I use that phone number to do a background check on the individual. It really puts my mind at ease.”
